There Are Readers Among Us

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, most of our students have been playing Among Us non-stop for the past few weeks. And while I know many of my High School students are “over it” it’s still popular and being played in high numbers.

Among Us is a game where you work together with others to figure out who was assigned as the “imposter.” Players are trying to prepare their spaceship for take-off, but one or more players are making that impossible because they’re creating chaos and sabotaging the event. Players are randomly assigned as crewmates and imposters at the beginning of the game. Crewmates want to figure out who the imposter is as fast as they can, and imposters want to hide out and throw others off their scent.

I noticed that my HS students were playing this in droves a few weeks ago during Study Hall periods. I sat down with them and they let me join a game. Since then I’ve played with more students, by myself, and with my own kids.

I took the opportunity to add in some of these little characters around the Library, because let’s face it, they’re adorable. And I thought I would share one my creation with my readers.

These are bookmarks I made for my Library. I did originally include our hashtag, #mthslib, but in this file, I’ve left an open space at the bottom. I also created them for use on my Silhouette, so that’s why you see the markings around the edges. I used the print and cut feature in Silhouette Studio so I could make them fast. But they can be printed and cut apart yourself.

I hope you enjoy them as much as my students. I’ve had to reprint them quite a few times as kids are scooping them up when they come to pick up their items!
