Twick or Tweat!

The Cow and the Dalmatian.

The kids had a blast tonight. We took B around to 4 or 5 houses and then came back to hand out candy. All was awesome until a candy induced meltdown occurred and it was clearly time for night-nights. Hope your twick or tweat was great!

7 Months

Just a quick check in. Wes is 7 months today.

He's now standing up at everything. I'm just waiting for him take steps. He's eating 3 meals a day and weighing in at 20lbs! He still has no teeth, but he's drooling and sticking everything under the sun in his mouth!

Mouse in the Hizzouse!

Let me start you with an illustration of how my morning went.

That would be me, the adult in the picture, freaking out over a mouse that my dog is chasing around my kitchen. I'm holding my toddler, Braydon, and he's freaking out, because I'm obviously freaking out.

I'm going to skip over all the boring "goings-ons" of the past few months with our mouse issue, but I will say, that it has become quite apparent that our mouse issue is a pretty friggin' big deal.

I always thought of mice as cute, little brown things.

Now, that I've actually seen them running around my kitchen floor, I envision them more like this...

We've been setting traps and have caught one nice fat mouse - that thankfully I didn't have to see because Dustin took care of it before I woke up - but the one I saw this morning was tiny. We've gotten rid of their food supply -the dog food- at night and hope that we can catch them all. I heard from a friend that it can take up to 3 months to get them all!

I'm officially skeeved and absolutely can not handle seeing devil mice at 6 in the morning.

Pray for me as I'm dancing around my kitchen screaming at the top of lungs like a banshee.

Fall Photo Shoot - FAIL

I stopped in at the park on the way home from the babysitters today. I had my camera, so I thought I would try and get some fall pictures of the boys.

Fail.

If you put a baby down on the ground, he will surely find a stick and eat it.

If the toddler sees the baby eating the stick, he will surely want to try it.

If your toddler hugs your baby any tighter, it might be considered abuse.

I think this was the best shot I got.

Maybe I'll try again later!

Perfect Night for Adventure

See, you waited so patiently that I decided to give you two posts in one day. I'm nice like that.

I decided to take the boys to one of our favorite parks tonight. The weather was just perfect, it's only about 2 minutes from our house, and Dustin needed to go to bed early due to work, so I wanted to get the boys out of the house so he could catch some Zs.

We love this little park. It's got a fun play area, walking trails and a pond with ZOMG...DUCKS! B gets way excited over ducks. I'm not sure why, but he could look at those things for hours. He gets sad when we have to say goodbye.

Tonight we met some nice ladies who gave B some bread to feed the ducks. He about lost it, he was so excited. The ducks were so into the food, they didn't fly away, like they normally tend to.

If you didn't throw your bread out far enough - and since B has a ::coughcoughgirlthrowcoughcough:: - there's these little fish that eat up your bread before the ducks can.

Here's a pretty common sight around my area. They were parked out by the pond having a huge cookout. Braydon wanted to go sit and eat with them, but I didn't think they would appreciate that.

We continued on our walk around the pond. I find is quite hilarious when Braydon wants to push around his brother. I literally giggle the entire time, except when I'm almost having a heart attack because he's pushing him towards a stream, instead of the trail.

We hit up the swings. Wes still isn't sure about them.

Braydon absolutely had to bring his book along to the park tonight. He read it on the swing. This one is called Shannon the Sheep, and I don't particularly like it because I think Shannon is a bit of a bitch.

Braydon is at that age where he loves to take off and run around with other kids, but he'll always be checking to make sure I'm watching him. I hope he never grows out of that.

And Wes just hung out. He loves watching me, watching his brother and just enjoys taking it all in.

I'm sad that these warm Autumn evenings will be over soon, but I'll take my boys on adventures any night they want to go!

Our First Buddy Walk

Yesterday, we participated in our first Buddy Walk to help support children with Down Syndrome. It was a beautiful day and we couldn't have had more fun!

Wes slept for about an hour after we first arrived.

Braydon is with the woman of the day, Miss Cameran!

I'm telling you, it was beautiful. B wanted his shirt OFF!

Cameran and her daddy, Ryan

B did a little goofing around with my mom.

Here is Cameran with her favorite uncle.

The boys and I had such a fun time!

We will participate again next year! To find out more information about Buddy Walks in your area, click here!

Toddle Along Tuesday - An Intro

I'm writing this quickly at 5:36 AM before I have to get my kids up, to the sitter, get coffee, sip coffee on my 45 minute commute to work and then enjoy being a middle school Librarian all day. Did that even make sense?

There is no amount of coffee on the planet that can get my going this morning. I don't even like coffee so I don't know why I'm talking about it. I drink cappuccino, really.

Anyway, I was up a total of 4 times last night. Twice with by 2.5 year old, Braydon,  who currently has a cold, and twice with my 6 month old, Weston, who currently has an obsession with peeing through his pjs every.single.night.

I talk a lot about my kids, my family, my job and BOOKS! I love reading YA so from time to time I'll write about my reading and what not. Hope you'll stick around!

Here are some current pics. It's 5:40 and I gotta go get up my kids. I hate this part of the day!
