Is That A Zit?

I had off of work today which totally rules because it's one more day I get to spend Christmas shopping and spend time with my little guy. I called to make a dermatologist appointment because his little spot isn't getting any better after a month of meds and thankfully they got us in today! Unfortunately, short of surgery, there's nothing more that we can really do to make it go away. We should keep putting on the medicine twice a day and use warm compresses to bring the nasty stuff in it to the surface. I did get the one blemish to burst once and I'm hoping that I can get it to again. I hate that he has these spots, but I guess it's pretty minimal compared to some other things that could be wrong with him. Here's an unedited photo so you can see what we're dealing with.

On a happier note, B and I got to spend some time with friends yesterday and today. I wish I would have taken some pictures so you could see the chaos that ensues when you put 6 boys under the age of 3 in a room together. Pure madness, but fun all the same! :)

Comfort

With yesterdays feast tucked under my belt, I felt today it would be best to keep it simple. B and I enjoyed a nice lunch of grilled cheese and tomato soup. Oh yea, cheese balls too!

Yesterday really was a great day. Even though we had to go to two different houses, we got to see all of the family and had a pretty good time! By the end of the day I was really tired and looked forward to snuggling on the sofa.
Braydon and Cameran playing together.

Braydon's first time with an ipod. (Notice the blemishes on his face are not getting better. Back to the dermatologist!)

Tonight we're heading into town to see Santa and see the Christmas tree being lit. I'm sure Braydon will love it!

22 Weeks

How far along: 22 Weeks
Baby's size: A Papaya or a Spaghetti Squash
Symptoms: Huge bellah.

Sleep: I had my first dream I was in labor last night. That was interesting. I was 6 cm dialated and was walking up a mountain to get the hospital. Once the baby was born he didn't have a name and he was already 3 months old!

Maternity clothes: As you can tell in my picture, I'm all about comfort!

Best moment this week: When Braydon lifts up my shirt and tries to kiss his brother.
Movement: A ton. He is one active little guy and I love every minute!
Food cravings: Cheese and crackers, grapes, Lucky Charms! ;)
Gender: All Boy although I have a fear he will come out a girl and I won't be prepared.

What I miss: Not too much actually. I'm enjoying every minute!

What I'm looking forward to: When Dustin can actually feel the kicks regularly. H
Weekly Wisdom (aka what I learned this week): Stomach Flu + Baby Kicks = not much fun.

Speaking of Holiday Cards

We're using Shutterfly this year to create our cards. I've used their site in the past to create calenders and our previous holiday cards. I actually prefer using Shutterfly to some of the other sites that are out there for pictures because they have such a large selection and lots of fun things you can do with your pictures! Check out one of the cute layouts we're considering for our card. Here's another one!

My sister-in-law loves to use Shutterfly for her photo books. They always look really nice and professional! Check them out!

Last year I made a calender as a gift for my parents and my brother is considering making another one for them! Who doesn't love a good calender?

Not only can they make cards and other stationary, but they also are a great way to get prints developed. I love how fast I can get my order!

If you're looking for an easy way to get your holiday cards sent out, check out Shutterfly, you get 50 free prints just for signing up!

**disclaimer...I get some free Holiday cards for promoting the heck outta Shutterfly and truth be told, they are pretty Ah-mazing. I heart you, Shutterfly.

Picture Fail

I had Brother Ben over this weekend to try and get some Christmas photos of B for our card. I think out of the 60 he took, I ended up with 2 I liked. I'm not going to post the one we chose yet, but here are some of the failed attempts. You can get the idea, he's eating in practically all of them but it was the only thing that made him stand still!

The Challenge

Somehow I have to turn this room into our new nursery. It's really tiny and currently contains a lot of our junk. The door remains mainly closed, but I now need to think of how I'm going to transform this space into our newest little bundle's living quarters. Good luck to us!

In this one you can see the color for the wall we're trying out. I'm not so sure it's going to stick, but we'll see!

Any suggestions?

We Had A Great Day!

Have you seen this show?

Something about these four kids running around and singing about working together and banana smoothies really makes my child excited. Personally, I find it annoying, but still I somehow find myself singing along with all of the LaLaLa-ing that's going on.

I'm hoping that my child will eventually enjoy some of the shows that I did growing up. Shows like Fraggle Rock

and Inspector Gadget.

Ok, maybe not Inspector Gadget, but it will still an awesome show. I'm really hoping that my child will not get into the entire Suite Life and Hannah Montana shows, but I'm sure by the time he's old enough there will be some new horror all over the Disney Channel making kids think it's ok to scream at their parents and needing the newest fad of technology or whatever those shows are about.

Still I hope that the TV that Braydon does choose (or that I help him choose) will help to instill good morals and values and not drive me too bananas!

Respecting the Turkey

Yea Yea, I get it. There's this little holiday in between Halloween and Christmas called Thanksgiving. Believe me, I know how to respect the turkey. In fact, I'll respect that turkey all up and down by having at least 2 entire Thanksgiving meals on Thanksgiving Day. I'll show that Turkey who's boss.

Just because I've started Christmas shopping and put away all of my fall decorations and will be digging my crates out of storage tonight filled with Christmas decorations, don't think I don't have respect.

I'm really excited for Christmas this year and have already subjected my child to our first viewing of A Muppet Family Christmas.

I friggin' love it.

I did take some time today when I got home from my long weekend class and we spent some family time outside raking up leaves. I consider that a pretty fun fall experience! Braydon had a blast!

So just because I'm breaking out the red and green and humming "Oh Christmas Tree," and planning where my lights will hang outside this year, don't get on my case. I love Christmas!

Just An Update

This is one of those weeks from HELL! We've had parent/teacher conferences at school so I've been away 2 nights out of the week leaving Dustin all by his lonesome to tend to our rambunctious child.

Side note: No one ever wants to meet with the Librarian so I always spend a lot of time cataloging books. I know you're all totally jealous.

This weekend I'm finishing up my grad class so again I'm leaving Dustin alone with B. I've only seen my child for a matter of 5 minutes the past 3 mornings. I got to do a quick diaper change, share some golden grahams and kiss him on the cheek before he was wisked away to the sitter.

I miss my guys!

In other news, I had a doctor appointment this week where they decided I needed to get my thyroid tested. I've been having a lot of hair shedding and my OB wants to rule out the thyroid before she says not to worry about it. Other than that, everything looked really good. The little guy's heartrate was 138, and he's a little mover. We've still been playing the name game and have an ongoing list of names on our fridge that is constantly changing. Currently in the top spot are Marshall and Weston (or Wesley). My mom sends me daily emails of names too, so who knows what our final choice will be.

So that's what's new for us! Soon I'll be working on our new nursery so look for pictures!

It's A...

I was right! I will admit I had a moment of panic where I thought, "I'll never have a daughter and I'll never get to buy cute dresses!"

But, I quickly got past that and remembered that's why I'm an Aunt to Baby Ali. I get to buy her all the cute stuff I want and someday I hopefully get to help her pick out her wedding dress. I'll be a happy lady, what can I say? You don't mind, do ya Hez?

We're super excited and we've already spend the rest of the night playing the name game. Is it weird that all of the names we like were characters on LOST? Sawyer, Jack, Charlie...hmmmmm. It's a weird theme. Names are still up in the air, but we still have 20 weeks to figure it out!

Here's to boys!

Pressure

Ok, I'm just going to put this out there, but I'm feeling a lot of pressure right now.

Why, you wonder?

Because of our big ultrasound tonight. I feel like a lot of people are going to be disappointed if we don't have a girl. I'm not sure why everyone thinks that we absolutely need to have a girl, and if this one isn't a girl we'll have to try for a third. In all honestly, I could care less about what this child is (as long as it's not a dog), but I feel like I should really want a girl because that's what everyone else wants.

Also, we're not having a third.

My stomach is in knots over this u/s tonight and I really don't want to hear any disappointed comments or see any negative facial expressions. I don't think I can handle it.

As my good friend Emily says, "It is what it is." We can't change it now!

I'll post results as soon as they are in!

19 Weeks

How far along: 19 Weeks

Baby's size: A Mango or about 8.5 oz and 6 in.

Symptoms: It's getting uncomfortable to sleep, hellish zits, and massive hair loss.

Sleep: I'm having really crazy dreams about the u/s results. I've been tossing and turning a lot too trying to get comfortable on with my belly.

Maternity clothes: I'm rockin' them now! I love these things!

Best moment this week: Knowing that my big u/s is coming up!

Movement: Getting a lot of tiny kicks, especially when I drink anything remotely filled with caffiene.

Food cravings: Still cereal. This weeks indulgence: Cap't  Crunch Berries.
Gender: I'm leaning towards boy, but Dustin thinks it's a girl. We'll find out on Friday...hopefully!

What I miss: Not having to think about food. I hate having to wonder about sodium content, what kind of cheese is on my salad and if this lunch meat is going to kill me or not.

What I'm looking forward to: Friday! :)
Weekly Wisdom (aka what I learned this week):  My parents despise every name that I love! :(
