10 Weeks with Baby #2

Baby Size: Prune

Symptoms: Tired, Nausea, Lotsa trips to the bathroom.Yucky tastes in my mouth. The norm.

Sleep: Crazy weird dreams that involve gorillas and co-workers. Waking up quite a few times to toss and turn.

Total Weight Gain: Well, that depends on the time of day. In the morning I still weight exactly the same and have no bump, but as the day progresses, my belly gets larger, as does my weight! :)

Maternity Clothes: Not yet, but I got them out the other day and got all giddy!

Best moment of the week: Having someone compliment me that I was glowing!

Movement: Nada.

Food cravings: I graze all day. And if I think about something, I pretty much have to have it. Tuna subs, melted cheese...yum.

Gender: Totally up in the air and not feeling anything either way.

What I miss: Corona. No lie.

What I'm looking forward to: Actually being about to wear my maternity clothes and stop being in between sizes!

What I learned this week: It really is true about showing a lot sooner with your second!

Emotions: I feel really neutral right now. I'm so busy with school I haven't had time to think about the new baby all that much. I feel bad about that!

Here was me in the beginning of the pregnancy:

And here is me today!

Yikes!

Wowsers!

School is back in full force. We started on Monday and the kiddies came on Wednesday. They've already gotten full days in while other schools will be starting back this week. Getting back into a normal routine has been taking a toll on me and my bed and I have had many a date night beginning around 8PM. I'm hoping within the next few weeks I'll get my energy back and I can stop acting like I'm 80.

I'm really excited this year for a few reasons. One, we have a new (not totally new, she was our our Asst. Super last year) Superintendent this year. I really like her vision and she seems pretty clear about what she expects from us. I like that she knows my name, I know that sounds funny, but I'm one of about 500 employees and the Librarians unfortunately don't seem to make a huge impact all the time. Second, we're in our second year of our new building and I really do love it. I love my Library andplusalso I've got an amazing group of Newscasters this year whom I think are really going to do exceptionally well. Lastly, I'm out at the end of March, so I really can't beat that! lol!

Around the home front things are going well. We've started a new project. Duster had this "great" idea to put in a  new driveway beside the house and that turned into putting a extension on our patio out back. Since my Uncle does landscaping, we had him over to help and he came up with some great ideas. Here is the beginning of our project. It probably won't be done for awhile.

The stone for the patio.

Digging out the Driveway.

Last night we celebrated my Sister-In-Law, Heather's, 32nd birthday. We had a blast and we're all patiently waiting on our new little one, Alison's, arrival. She's not due for another 2-3 weeks, but Heather had both of the boys early so it should be any day now! I'm so exciting to have a little girl in the family! She is going to be one spoiled little girl! Here are some pictures of Heather and her cake.

Bugger doesn't even look pregnant in this picture!

Remember my To-Do list for the summer? I've pretty much accomplished everything I wanted to. I read my 10 books, finished my grad classes, kept the house clean, worked out (ok, not as much as I used to), tried new recipes and all that jazz. I'm really happy with the summer, but I'm ready for nice cool fall weather. I'm looking forward to the fair, football and just taking brisk walks in the evenings.

Here's the last book I finished on my summer reading list. It was so-so!

9 Weeks

Today I had an ultrasound to confirm that I am definitely 9 weeks. Everything is measuring great and I have an official due date...March 29th! Take a look at my little reindeer baby!

Ok, those are it's legs, not antlers. But still cute.

I've been feeling pretty ok. I get really tired and spend the day either nauseous or ravenously hungry. It's a toss up. It helps to be out moving around instead of sitting still. You know how they say you start showing earlier the second time? Take a look at this bloat.

For real, ya'll. This was me at 22 weeks last time. Now at 9 weeks? Hello!? It probably doesn't help that I have barely exercised an iota because I've been feeling so crappy. I'm hoping to get back on track now that school's back in and I'll be moving around more.

Yikes. I'm scared. Hold me closer Tony Danza.

On that note, I'm calling it an early night. Guarantee I'll be in bed by 8 tonight! :)

Getting To Know You

Getting to know YOU

It's that time again! Here we go! Tomorrow it's back to reality for me...yuck! Summer is ovah!

1. If you could host a Reality TV show, which one would it be?
Wipeout. That girl seriously does nothing. She just stands at the sideline and makes cute faces. I want her job.

2. Do you put your seatbelt on before or after you start the car?
Before. Safety first!

3. Shave or hair removal cream?
Shave. I had an unfortunate incident when I was like 16 with hair removal cream. I convinced myself I had a mustache and needed to burn that shiit off. I had red patches on my face for a few days.

4. What's your favorite feature in a house?
Windows. Never take for granted natural sunlight. We have one tiny window in our living room and I feel like I'm missing out!

5. What is your favorite "Fall" scent?
I love the chill of the Autumn air. So crisp. So perfect.

6. What tv show are you looking forward to seeing the most this Fall??
I don't even know. Now that LOST is gone, what's even left?

7. Personal Shopper or Personal Chef?
Personal chef, hands down. I want someone to cook all of my healthy meals for me!

8. What is the first word that comes to mind when you think of "Fall"?
Down. lol!

Time To Let The Cat Out Of The Bag

As if it already isn't...lol.

If you are close with me, family or read it in the SET minutes (omg), you would know by now that I'm PREGNANT! I'm about 8 weeks and 5 days, give or take. Tonight, after a long awaited afternoon, we got to see the little heartbeat on the ultrasound. So exciting! On Monday I should go in for a more thorough ultrasound and I'll get some pictures.

We thought I was about 10 weeks, but according to the ultrasound tech, I'm measuring at almost 9 weeks. This morning I went to the doctor to hear the heartbeat and because the baby is so tiny, they couldn't find it. I went into panic mode of course, and even though this is what happened with B, I requested an ultrasound. When I got there tonight it turned out my doctor ordered the wrong "type" of ultrasound (whatever the heck that means), and we weren't going to get to see anything, but the tech was so nice and sweet, she took me in the back for a quick check to ease my mind. That's when we saw our little flutter.

So our tentative due date is March 28th, although I'm sure that will change. We're both really stoked about adding an addition to our family!

I promise I won't turn this into a pregnancy blog, but I will keep my readers updated with what's going on!

Fleas!

Last night Steeler was up at 1:15 being weird. He's normally a strange dog so I didn't really think too much of it. He was wandering around and licking himself a lot more than normal. I made him sleep under the bed and that was that.

Or so I thought.

This morning it was the same damn thing. Licking himself and acting all strange. So I flipped him over and low and behold, they they were...FLEAS!

I realized I forgot to give him his meds last month.

I immediately go into panic mode, throw B in the car and drive round the corner to Kmart to grab so flea shampoo and other meds to get rid of those nasty things.

1 hour later, Steeler has been shampooed and dried and hopefully flea free. I'll give him the drops later tonight. He's never had fleas before and I've never had them in my house. Is there anything else I need to do? Like flea bomb my house?

These things are so gross!

Ok, sorry for that gross story, but I'm freaked! FLEAS!

Getting To Know You

Before I go full force into my Getting To Know You Sunday post, I want to give a special thank you to Keely over at Mannland5 for featuring my blog on her Follow Me, Chickadee Friday. I had no idea until yesterday when I saw all my new subscribers! Thanks so much Keely!

To all of my new followers, I promise I'll be checking out your blogs and following you back really soon!

Summer is winding down so I've been hastily working on getting some more things done on my summer to-do list. I just started my 10th book of the summer and since I'll be heading back soon I'll be immersing myself in YA novels very soon!

The House at Riverton so far seems pretty good. I'm finding that it's having a hard time snagging my interest and Jersey Shore episodes are breaking my concentration. Damn you GTL!

Ok, now on to Getting To Know You!

Getting to know YOU

1. What kind of athlete has the hottest body?
Let's see...football. Especially Troy Polamalu.

2. Are you a planner or a procrastinator?
A planner! I hate procrastinating and although I have been known to do it, I can't stand it!

3. Diet or regular (soda)?
Try neither. I think diet soda is poison, but if I'm craving the sweetness of soda, I'll go with a coke or a pepsi.

4. What's your one "must have" for Fall?
My Uggs. I can't live without them. My aunt bought me my first pair a few years ago and now I'm hooked.

5. What's your favorite fast food restaurant?
I love me some Sonic and Subway. Now I want a Tuna Sub and a milkshake!

6. What do you think is the sexiest profession for a guy?
I'm leaning more towards something exciting like a bull rider or something. LOL. But, I kind of think that guys in suits are sexy too!

7. Did you wear braces?
I did. In Middle School. Two years of pink and green rubber band bliss!

8. Would you rather have a guy that's super sexy or kind?
Super sexy guys are way too into themselves and super kind sort of freak me out, so I much prefer someone in the middle. That's why I married the one I got!

Way Back Wednesday

First Car

Look at that sweet ass. It's a Chevy Spectrum. You're jealous, aren't you?

Yes, this was my first car. Poor Specty didn't last too long. I think I had her for a short 8 months or something ridiculous like that. If you know my parents at all, (and I totally preface this by saying I am completely grateful that they were willing to even buy me my first car), but they're cheap. Cheap in a good way, because they know how to save a buck, buy cheap in a way that says, "Hey! Let's buy our child a death trap because it's only $800 and chances are she'll probably ruin it within 24 hours anyway!"

I know what you're thinking, lucky girl.

So one day I was cruising through town in my sweet ride. I believe it was during the summer and I went around a turn and all of a sudden my car died. Like died, ya'll. Dead.

I got out and looked under my car, which had a smoking hood by the way, and there was a huge puddle of green under it. Since this was before I had a cell phone and I was stuck on a road with like 3 houses, I remember having to go and knock on an old lady's door and ask to use her landline. She was nice enough let me use it, but because it was summer, my parents were working, Brother Ben was who knows where, and I didn't know who else to call. I ended up calling my friend Jeneice and her dad, Doug, was home. Doug was such a great guy and he came out to pick me up and take me home. I was always grateful to Doug for picking me up on that summer day and taking me home when I dealt with my first car break down.

Needless to say, Specty was a goner and a few months later, my parents and I (and my Nana) bought my next ride:

A ford escort, except it was bright blue and I think a two-door. I can't even remember anymore.

Next week's theme: First Movie

Chocolate Spa at Hershey

Today I took my mom to The Hotel Hershey to spend time wrapped in robes, drinking cocoa and getting massages and facials. It was the most relaxing day I've had in awhile!

I wasn't sure how my mom would like getting poked and rubbed by random strangers, but she had a really good time. We also had a nice lunch in one of their restaurants. If you've ever wanted to be treated like a celebrity then this is the place! :) I highly recommend it!

Tonight we had dinner at my Mother-In-Laws house and got to see the family. My Sister-In-Law, Heather, is due in a little over a month, but we're all pretty sure that little baby Alison will be joining us sooner than later. Since she's found out that she's having a baby girl, she's been giving us all of the boy's outgrown clothing! All I have to say is, Thanks Hez! We seriously have an entire fall wardrobe for Braydon! I love it!

A Camping We Will Go

This weekend we sort of made a last minute decision to visit Dustin's Aunt and Uncle at their campground out in Western PA. I've been there a few times before, but this was the first time over the summer AND with Braydon.

There was a benefit going on all day Saturday for Ryder. Ryder is Dustin's cousin's son who went into cardiac arrest when he was only a few months old and now suffers from a brain injury. Ryder is seriously the cutest little boy and we were so happy that we got to be at the campground that weekend when they were holding the benefit. The campers raised over $3,000 for the Ryder Foundation! Unfortunately, Megan (D's cousin) and Ryder couldn't make the trip out this weekend, but they were greatly missed by all!

Of course I had my camera in tow so I got some shots of the fun activities from the day.

There were pony rides. Braydon wasn't a fan of the horse and immediately we took him off. In fact, the horse was still tied up!

The hayride was more Braydon's style.

Bob and Bud. Two of the biggest horses I know.

There was a pig plop, followed by a pig chase.

I didn't have my camera while we went swimming or watched the ducky race or the parade, but they all happened! I promise!

That night there was a huge dinner where all the campers brought food. Here is Dustin helping with corn.

This is the pavilion filled with food and people.

Here's Braydon playing with his Aunt Erin.

The night ended with a DJ dance party and a lot of fun! We were so glad that we went out for the weekend, it was worth it!

HALP! I Need a Crash Course!

So Braydon was given a Tonka Memory game from one of my Uncles. It's all great well and good considering Braydon is really into trucks and bugs and making loud noises like a tractor.

You should hear my house, it's like a farm.

Anyway, he's not all that into matching the cards together, in fact...he's not interested in all, but he really likes me to name what the different trucks and equipment are to him.

Sounds easy, right?

Well it is. When you have cards that are quite obvious, even to girl's like me.

This is a bulldozer. SCORE! Point for me!

Ok, this is some type of really big crane. It has two hooks. TWO! Ok, I'll take that point too.

Alright, now this is some sort of weed chopper, right? It's got a blade, looks maybe like a big lawnmower. No?
Ok, lose on this one.

And this must be some type of futuristic machine that you use on the moon to pick up rubble. Right? RIGHT?

Alright, so it's obvious I need a little help. By the way, all pictures are courtesy of HASBRO copyright 2002. Gotta give credit where credit  is due! ;)

I guess I'm going to have to freshen up on truck names!

Last night Dustin and I decided to head out to Pittsburgh TODAY to visit his Aunt and Uncle at their campground. Look for lots of cute outdoorsy pictures when we return! Have a great weekend!

Oh, and I recently finished these 2 books. They were great!

Bugs, Ewwww!

Today my Sister-In-Law had off for the day so we decided to take all of our boys over to her dad's to swim. The boys really love spending time together so anytime we can get them together, we do!

Here are the boys opening the filter covers to look for bugs. Such boys.

Sorry I've been a bad blogger lately. The summer is winding down and I'm feeling a little under the weather lately! :)

Way Back Wednesday

This weeks topic: First date!

Wow, a first date, huh. I think my first official "date" was with a guy named Jeff. I was a junior in HS and he picked me up from working as bus girl at my first job (remember last week) and he took me to a dance in the HS cafeteria. I mean, I guess that sort of counts, right? I remember we didn't leave together...so maybe that doesn't count.

How about this. Let's talk about my first date with my husband. We knew each other through mutual friends and had hung out a few times before he started calling on a regular basis. The first time we hung out just the two of us, was when he drove 45 minutes to my apartment and we went to this restaurant in the city that has about 100 beers on tap. We sat there and talked for awhile and drank some beers. We didn't have a meal that together that night, but had some great conversation which eventually led to him driving to my apartment a few times a week after that. The rest is history. I eventually moved back to my hometown and wallah, we're hitched!

Next week's topic: First car!

Wanna play?
