Enjoy! It's still a bit of a mess, but I've already had a full day of classes!

Back To School, Back To School

Today was.....
boring, long, tiring, draining, making me want to be a stay at home mom.

Take your pick!

The first day back is never fun. It's full of meetings, meetings and more meetings. I sat and listened to a lady babble on about some website while I surfed the web on my phone. I listened to my principal blabber on about the ins and outs of our new school, all of which I heard at a meeting earlier in the year. And I learned that I have to carry around about 50 keys to have access to every room in the building that doesn't belong to a teacher. (Auditorium, gym, Music area) My poor neck will be sore everyday from having to wear them around my neck. (We're now required to wear lanyards with our IDs around our neck)

All in all, it was a pretty stinky day.

And the stink was coming from me. I forgot my deodorant. Sheesh.

I was so worried about getting Braydon out the door to the sitter on time that I forgot about the little things. Like good smelling armpits. Oh well, I just made sure that I sat far away from everyone and I don't think anyone noticed. At least I hope not!

Tomorrow will be better. It's strictly a clerical day so I'll just have plenty of time to work in the Library and get things organized. I'll take some pics of the new Library and post them so you can see what it looks like.

And now I'm off to bed. Poor Braydon is already passed out and I'm gonna be right behind him. Dustin is still over at him mom's working on getting Derek's new bathroom finished. He'll be home this weekend! We can't wait to have him home! It will be challenging having to care for him ourselves and not being able to call the nurses if something happens, but I think everything will be ok. We just want him home!

Play With Meeeee!

After the disappointment of not being able to make it to the beach (the house was too full), Dustin took a half day on Friday and spent it hanging out around the house with Braydon and I. Unfortunately it rained most of the day, but we still had some fun! Dustin decided to play some Golf on his XBox and you can see how Braydon reacted!
Hey Daddy! Play with me!

Fine, I'll sit in front of you.

How about if I pull on your ear?

I'll just smack you on the butt.

In the end, Braydon won out b/c he always does. Braydon now likes to rawr like a lion and Dustin does it back. They crack each other up! The rest of the afternoon sounded like the zoo was visiting our house!

Tomorrow he will be 7 months old! Wow!

And We're Off!

Braydon and I are taking a short trip to the beach. We're leaving tomorrow and coming home on Saturday. Dustin is too busy at work to come so it's just the two of us heading down to Bethany to visit the Thompson's! I'm excited to get away as I haven't really left the house at all this summer.

The drive has me a little nervous, but I plan to leave around 5AM tomorrow with the hopes that he'll sleep the entire way down. If not, looks like I'll be listening to the Nursery Rhyme CD until my ears are bleeding. As for the drive back, I'll figure that out later!

Be ready for some cute pics of Braydon and Megan at the beach together! I can't wait!

Here was a pic of them earlier this year! (And Mylo too)

I'd Like To Introduce You To The Turn Signal

Your turn signal is located usually on the left side of your steering wheel. It's a stick that comes out of the side. You can hit it up to make a right turn signal and down to make a left turn signal. You should use it in order to let others know when you might be changing lanes, or which way you're going at a stop sign, or even when you're going to turn into a parking lot. They have been on cars for a very long time now. Become familiar with yours. They work wonders.

(I apologize for the hairy fingers. They do not belong to me.)

Where Did My Summer Go?

I'm not going to complain about having to go back to work or tell you how much I'm going to miss summer (although of course, I am). Instead, I'm going to tell you how excited I am to go back to school and start the school year in our brand new building! Our new Middle School is absolutely gorgeous! It's huge, state of the art, and the Library is pretty darn tootin' amazing! Last week a few of our district Librarians came to help me unpack. We'll call the them Hoover Movers. In less than 4 hours all of the Library books were unpacked, shelved and put into proper Dewey order. I was impressed.

I've been going in for a few hours almost everyday to unpack my office and everything else and get ready for the new year. I vow to keep a positive attitude and not let all of our negative nancies get me down. I am going to keep that promise if it friggin kills me. Even if a certain "team" signs out my wireless carts for the first entire month when they're not even ready to go out yet. I swear they're not going to get me down. In the past, I've let the little things get to me and I just can't do it anymore. There are bigger things in life than worrying about teachers who expect me to teach their poetry projects and teachers who choose to use an online math program as their sole way of teaching lessons. I choose to focus on the good. Like the fact that at least there are teachers who trust me enough to teach their lessons or the fact that the Library computers are being used over the wireless cart. I will remain focused and have a great year!

I swear.

On another note, there are less than 3 weeks until I'm a Leisey!

WHAT?!

I can't believe it's so soon! There are a few little things that need finished up. Seating charts, a new cake topper, talking to the DJ, finishing up the candy bags. The end is in sight!

And so summer is ending...

I'm going to miss my time with Braydon. I really enjoyed just doing nothing with him all summer. I had a great time just hanging out and doing things around the house. I may take a tiny vacay with Braydon to the beach at the end of this week to hang out with some friends, but other then that, I just plan to finish out my time off just watching Braydon crawl around the house and stand up (and then fall) on everything he can get his hands on. It's been a great summer!

It's Naptime!

This is what Braydon does now when he is supposed to be napping!

Life gets more interesting everyday!

This Town!

There was a woman walking down Main Street today pushing a shopping cart.

Not just any shopping cart, mind you. It was from Target. It wasn't as fancy as this, but you get the idea...

Anyway, the weird thing is the closest Target is about 15 miles away. How on Earth did she get it to Main Street, Ephrata? As I'm driving I'm imagining all of the ways she could have gotten it here. Maybe she shoved it in the back of her van. Maybe she rode it down the highway while her husband pushed her. Maybe she just found it somewhere and thought it was supercool and decided to use it do her shopping in downtown Ephrata. Or just maybe she hired these guys!

I mean, you obviously need a shopping cart when you're shopping at Royer's, the Christian book store and that store that sells Christmas ornaments all year. Like, duh.

My daydreaming of the shopping cart came to an abrupt halt when I realized I was following a very large bus with a license plate that said "18" on it. I almost peed my pants with excitement thinking the Duggar's might be in Ephrata! OMG! Once I got a little closer I realized the bus was from Connecticut, not the lovely state of Arkansas. Hot Damn. And to think, that would have been the most exciting thing to hit our town since the Girl's Gone Wild bus broke down at the HillTop!

Oh yeah, this little gem pops up when you're searching for "Target Shopping Carts" on Google Images! Who knew shopping carts rode escalators!

So Much To Say

So much have happened over the weekend, I have to figure out where to start. I think Jonathan would be the best.

My cousin Jonathan Walls was killed in Afghanistan this past weekend. He and 2 other men were out patrolling and came across a roadside bomb. He was only 27 and has 3 children. What I will always remember most about Jon was his laugh. He had the best laugh and I can still hear it when I think about him. The last time I saw him was just after his youngest daughter was born and he came home from Colorado for a few days. I got this really great pic of him holding Braydon. I just can not stop thinking about how his own children will never remember him and it breaks my heart.

Also this past weekend, we learned that Derek (Dustin's younger brother) will be out of rehab before the wedding. There are some major home modifications that need done to their house so this week Dustin will be spending a lot of time at his mom's helping with the construction.

On Saturday I had my bachelorette party in Philadelphia. My friends planned the entire thing! We stayed at the Sheridan in Olde City, ate dinner at the River Deck and went dancing at BuckHeads and Finnegan's Wake. It was a blast!

My mom kept warning me to be careful while we were out. She was worried I would break something and have broken bones for the wedding. Saturday was a breeze and I wasn't worried at all...Sunday was a different story! We were on our way to see my Aunt on Sunday evening and I had to hop out of Dustin's (big) truck to run in and get Ben and my dad. I stepped out of the truck and landed funny causing me to fall. I pretty much rolled my ankle and broke a bone on the top of my foot. If you can recall, I did the same thing to the other foot last year the week after I found out I was pregnant. I refuse to go to the doctor because all they'll tell me to do is stay off of it and wear a special shoe. I already have the shoe from last year AND it's impossible to stay off of it when I have a baby who's into everything. I'm just sucking it up and dealing with it!

Speaking of my baby who is into everything....

Not only is he crawling at the speed of light now, he's trying to stand up on things. I can't believe how big he's getting!

I think that's all of my updates from this past weekend! It's been a busy one and I'm starting to get sad that I really only have a few short weeks left!
