I Have A 6 Month Old.

Where did the last 6 months go? I can't believe he's half a year already!
He's now:
*sitting up on his own
*babbling like crazy
*eating all sorts of veggies and fruits
*smiling on demand
*flirting with girls...haha
*crawling as of today!

Here's a nice video of him crawling. He's very jumpy, but he can get around!

And here's little up close and personal video of our cute little guy!

Oh, Steeler.

My dog is a nuisance. End of story.

IMG 0117

To enlighten those who have not met my pretentious puppy, let me tell you a little bit about him. He weighs about 15lbs, although he maybe a little heavier now because people keep commenting on how fat he is. He's black, likes to bark and loves to get what he wants, mainly my attention. When it was close to my due date we were often asked the question, "What about Steeler? Won't he be jealous?" It was a huge concern of mine, but amazingly he's taken to Braydon like a duck on water or butter on bread. Since Braydon has now started taking interest in Steeler, Steeler has done the same. They play on the floor and Braydon tries to tug on his ears. It's cute. There are a few times I've seen teeth, but nothing harmful and I've had no reason to worry. But just because he's good with Braydon, doesn't mean he's winning any awards here.

The other night we came home from visiting Derek and we let the dog out of the car, sans leash. I noticed our neighbor (the one with the really annoying barking dog) had her front door open. Of course her dog starts pitching a fit when we let Steeler out and my dog of course runs over to him. Picture this, David against Goliath. Big dog, little dog, barking furiously at each other through a screen door.

Of course I run right after him, yanking him up, apologizing like crazy. She's there too, pulling on her dog's collar and she announces loudly, "YOU'RE DOG JUST PUT A HOLE IN MY SCREEN, YOU WILL BE PAYING FOR THAT!" And, I announce loudly right back, "YOU BET WE WILL!" I know that I shouldn't have said it loudly back, but I was mad at my annoying dog and mad at myself for letting him out of the car without his leash. I yell at Steeler and take him in the house, end of story.

Or not.

Flash forward 10 minutes later, I'm upstairs putting Braydon to bed and there's a knock at the door. Dustin goes down and low and behold, it's the police. They just want to give us a friendly reminder that our door must always remain on a leash and that we have to pay for a new screen. Dustin informs the officer that we already said we would pay, which throws her off a little, and apologizes again.

Um, hello? We said we would pay, so why call the police? She really had to take it there I guess. The nerve of some people, I swear. So the next time I hear her annoying barking dog all day through my walls, guess who's getting a phone call. That's right Akron Borough. Be ready.

To finally end the story, I see her yesterday. By her I mean the wicked witch, and she hands me a bill for $53 to repair her screen. Apparently the frame was bent so she had to replace the entire door. JOKE. Must have been nice to get a whole new door on us.

And so I say, "Oh Steeler." When will you, wait I mean I, learn?

One of Those Days

I'm pretty sure that the people who run this town and the people who do construction on our roads do not ever consult one another.

It took me a half hour to get to Walmart today. This is a trip that should take less than 10 minutes. Braydon and I were happily driving while listening to his ear-splitting nursery rhyme CD and all of sudden I came to a road closed sign. So I make a turn (apparently in the wrong direction) and end up in the middle of bumble Lancaster County, PA. I have never seen so many cows in one trip. I finally got myself back into an area I recognized (after turning around 3 times), and by this time I was so over "Hickery Dickery Dock" I was just glad to see humans again.

We made it into Walmart and I have to pick up my card box that I ordered. (Classy, I know) I'm in the back of the store waiting for my friendly CSM representative to give me my item and it's taking them like 20 minutes to come and take care of me. Meanwhile, all these freak-o's who work at Walmart are meandering through trying to tell me how cute Braydon is I'm about to lose it b/c I just want to get my stuff and get out of there! I finally get my item, and I hightail it outta there.

Braydon decides he's starving once we reach the parking lot, so I spent about 10 minutes now watching the freak-o's outside while feeding him a bottle.

On the way home I need to stop by the Library, but mind you, there are like 2 roads near the Library that are closed. How on Earth is a person supposed to get around town when all the roads are being worked on! I swear the town needs to get it together!

We're home now and Braydon is happily napping, so in the end we're happy as normal, but there's nothing like driving through this town to get my blood boiling. Oh yeah, at least I wasn't as ridiculous as the lady next to me who was screaming at the light and then the car in front of her. That was road rage!

A Present for Derek

I got Braydon all dolled up this morning and decided to make a fun present for Derek. We'll take it to him tonight in rehab. (He can feel tingles in his one leg now!) The first one is the one I framed and the other ones are just ones I thought were funny.

This is a video of what it's like to take pictures with Braydon.

The Obsession

Water bottles. Remote Controls. Keys. Why bother buying him fancy toys?

So close!

Braydon is so close to crawling! He's got the backwards thing down, that's for sure. Look at that rocking! It should be any day now. Yikes!

Braydon's First 4th!

We had an eventful weekend. It began with horrific news. I won't get into details, but we're coming to terms with Derek's accident.

On a lighter note, Braydon had his first 4th of July! We started the day at the Wyomissing parade. He slept through most of it. Who knew, 2 AM is party time in the crib, but marching bands and fire trucks put him right out. Here's a pic of Emily and Braydon right before he passed out.

After that we had a little cookout, Braydon and Braydon showed everyone how he is almost crawling. Yikes! We then went home for a nap and when we woke up we went to visit a family friend. Their daughter has a little girl who is a week younger than Braydon. They're going to get married someday. It's destiny. Here are some pics of Braydon and Avery. He's kind of an attention stealer.

We ended our day with the fireworks at our friends Eric and Melissa's house. They had a little shin-dig and you could see the fireworks perfectly from their yard. They are about 3 miles from where the fireworks are set off so we didn't have to worry about the noise at all. All in all it was a fun and busy day! I'm looking forward to next year when Braydon is able to run around and really look at the fireworks!
