Braydons is 3 months and I Tried to Flood the Library

Every morning I arrive at school early so I can use my friends office to pump before the students arrive. There is a workroom that adjoins her office and the Library that has a sink. I always turn on the hot water before I start to pump so the water has time to warm it (it takes forever). This morning while I was pumping in Em's office I get a knock on the door from one of the neighboring teachers telling me that the he turned the water off because the sink was really full! I was kind of freaked out because A) I was in the middle of pumping and there was a man on the other side of the door talking to me and B) I was totally clueless as to what he was really talking about because how would the sink be full? I was only in there for a few minutes so far.

I quickly finished pumping and walked out into the workroom. Holy crud, you should have seen the water all over the place. Not only was the sink really full, the floor had puddles on it and the entire counter was dripping with wetness! I am an idiot. Apparently the stopper was in the drain. Oh my GAWD. I quickly called the custodian who showed up with his trusty mop and loads of rags and graciously started cleaning up my mess. I could not apologize enough. I did ruin a few boxes (we're packing up the Middle School) and had to air dry a couple of things, but other than that, there really wasn't too much harm done...other than to my ego.

Needless to say, the next time I pump, I will not be running the water.

I blame this insanity on lack of sleep. Please Please Braydon, start sleeping through the night. No More Growth Spurts! But look how cute he is! 3 months old!!!

I Get So Emotional, Baby

So I thought I knew what emotions were during my pregnancy because Holy Shizzle, I was a hot mess. Well, not a total hot mess, just a tad more sensitive and emotional than I normally would be, but that's expected when you're waddling around like a duck and have a child trying to kick his way out through your belly button.

I never knew though, how much more emotional I could possibly be after my pregnancy. We're not just talking crying over spilled milk (although I did do that when Dustin accidentally knocked over a bottle of pumped milk...I worked hard for that!), I'm talking getting worked up at the itsy bitsiest things EVER.

Like, listening to the Sketties CD and getting tears in my eyes when Ben's song came on, or having a meltdown when a student told me Braydon doesn't look at all like me and wanted to know if he was really my child.

I'm not trying to say I was made of steel before. Sure, I got emotional and flipped out a little more than I should have, but these days things really affect me. I'm hoping that I will soon snap out of it and when I visit the grocery store and they're out of Pepperoni Hot Pockets, I won't go swirling into a deep abyss of depression.

Someday I'll be normal again, someday!

30 Day Shred

One of the great things about my bumping is that I've learned about the 30 day shred. New moms are doing it left and right and it seems to be working for most of them. I just placed my order and will hopefully get my DVD tomorrow! I'll let you know how it works for me. I'd like to lose another 10-15 lbs over the next 4 months. We shall see!

I started doing the P90X Ab Ripper and that thing tears my abs apart! It's a 15 min ab workout that makes you have a hard time sitting up for a few days! Totally worth it though!

Braydon went to bed a lil early tonight so Dustin and I got some quality time to hang out and watch TV. It's nice to relax when the little guy is sleeping!

I wanted to post this pic from Easter of my Pap-Pap, Dad, Braydon and I. 4 generations of Hartranft's. Of course I'll be a Leisey soon...

Random Sunday Information

First off, let's just say that Braydon LOVES his exersaucer. It's like a drug...for 3 month olds. That or his jumperoo. I don't know what I would do without it!

Wedding plans are totally complete with the exception of a tent. Easy Peasy on that end.

The weather is amazing. Braydon enjoys it too!

Today we're heading over to Maw-Maw's for Sunday dinner. I love Sunday's because Dustin's mom makes a huge dinner and we get to go over and fill up for the whole day. Later in the evenings we barely need to eat at all b/c she cooks so much food! I LOVE IT!

Tomorrow we have an appt. to talk to a mortgage guy to see how much we can afford for a house! I can't wait to move again!

Did you know it's possible to find lots of "stalkerish" information on Google? Be careful what you put on the web...you never know who will stalk you and find out all the useless information you put out there!

Do the Bump

So if you're wondering where I've been for awhile now (not that you have), but in case you were, I've been obsessed with BUMPING! TheBump.com is a site filled with lots of baby info and topics. Before I gave birth, I used to check it out for simple answers about various questions.

Since the birth of Braydon, I've discovered the message boards.

Sweet molasses, I love those message boards.

You can interact with new moms and ask stupid questions that you could just the same get the answers to on Google, but it's so much fun to talk to other people! Some of these ladies have been "bumping" together since the 1st tri message boards, so I'm considered a newbie in their world. They're a tight click of ladies filled with more drama than a TNT movie, but it's so entertaining to watch! There are also girls there like me who are just looking for support and answers to things like "how many baths do you give your child a week?" and it's fun to post pictures and talk about other various topics as well.

The only problem with it is, I think I have an obsession. I check the boards in the morning before work, sometime when I have second during the day, over lunch and in the evenings when I'm home. Crazy? Not really, some of these ladies are on allllll day.

I need to ween myself from thebump just like I'm about to start weening Braydon from the boob.

Other than my new obsession, life has been good! Braydon is sleeping more, which is hella good for my students because I'm a nice Librarian when I get a solid 6 hours of sleep straight. There's only 38 more student days and then it's summer fun time! YAY! Braydon got his first beach towel for Easter so I'm super excited to take him swimming!

Now I'm off to bump a little before my next batch of monsters come in for books....eeeek!

Easter Fun!

So I found this little Easter Bunny outfit at Target. Notice the tail.

And then I realized it was for a dog...

Happy Easter Everyone!

Hi Ho, Hi Ho...

It's off to work I go (went). Yesterday was my first day back. Yuck. Minimal tears (from Braydon).

I was really worried about how the morning routine would go, but I eventually just realized I had to stop thinking about it and just go with the flow. He ended up waking about 1:30 AM to eat and went right back to sleep. My alarm went off at 5 and by the time I got out of the shower he was ready to eat again. It worked out well. Dustin dropped him off at the sitter because I'm a wuss and there was NO way I could have handled it. I called him when I was on my way to work just to see how it went and next thing I know I burst into tears! I sobbed into the phone something along the lines of...he's gonna wake up and not know where I'm at! BUT...low and behold he woke up happy and promptly wanted his next feeding.

My return to work was greeted with lots of baby talk from teachers and students. Mainly the students just made comments like...you look like you didn't even have a baby!...(thanks 13 year old boy, quit looking at me.)...and he's sooo cute! I even got a few hugs. But the icing on the cake was when this one lovely little boy...who is probably the most annoying thing on the planet and insists on being the first person in the Library every morning...walked in (as soon as I unlocked the door) and said...Hi, Miss H! I missed you and by the way, you look good.

It was really sweet of him and I almost missed him for a split second....and then I thought, stop looking at me.

At the end of the day, Braydon and I were both super excited to see one another. It ended up being a good day and I only called once! Hopefully everyday ends up like this. I drove to work this morning tear free and I'll still probably call one time just to check in, but I think I'm gonna be ok!

Am I A Bridezilla?

So I swore I was going to have a casual wedding. Nothing fancy. I just wanted my wedding to be more like a party with close friends and family.

And then I went bridesmaid dress shopping.

I really wanted my girls to choose their own dresses, find whatever suited them and not spend a shit-ton of money. Well, hell...one trip to the dress shop and that was down the tubes. My girls actually wanted me to help choose dresses for them and they wanted to look the same! I guess it's easier for them (but more stress on me!). So we made the trip to alfred angelo (that's where my dress is from) and I poured over different color combinations and dress styles. I ended up choosing pink and green since those have always been my favorite colors and the girl's dresses look like this:

Cute, huh?
Anyhoot, I also got my wedding cake last night, called about tent rentals, made an appt. for tuxes and have a call in about a Pastor. Oh yeah, I booked the DJ, flowers and caterer too. All this for a "casual" party. Let me tell ya, wedding planning sucks the big one and I'll be very happy when it's all over!
So I think every bride ends up a little bridezillaish regardless of how hard she tries not to be. There are just some things for your wedding that you have to have. It is your day, your supposed to be "one" day so I hope mine turns out as fabulous as I have it envisioned!
P.S. I'll say it again...there's a reason you get married before you have children. Planning a wedding with a 2 month old child bites. Happy days Ya'll!
