Hunting and Sleeping...they go together!

You would never think that hunting and sleeping would go together so nicely, but they do. Dustin left yesterday for hunting (he'll be gone til Wed) and it's great for me because I get to rest!!! I am so tired lately, it's unbelievable. I've completely given up on caffeine at this point, even though I never really drank a lot to begin with, and it's really hard! I got used to drinking a half glass of coke or a little cappuccino in the morning and now I'm suffering running completely on my own depleting energy. I did accomplish a lot of things though with Dustin gone though, other than sleeping. I've attempted to be productive around the house. I started wrapping presents and hung up some pictures and things in the nursery. I even took down our old blinds and put up some new ones. I think Dustin will have to fix it when he gets home, but at least I got them up. This whole nesting thing is greeaaatt!

Steeler's Christmas card will be coming soon. I tried to get the picture today but just ended up putting a hole in the wall (you'll understand when you get the picture). I'll have to wait until Dustin is home to get it perfect. Next year you'll see Steeler and Braydon on the card...that should be fun! I'm almost at 33 weeks...only 7 weeks to go! This is the most recent picture I have of myself...I'm ginormous. (Although NOT having twins as some rude lady stated yesterday. I should have clocked her...lol!) Don't I look thrilled?

P.S. Had a great Thanksgiving! Braydon showed his appreciation by keeping me up half the night kicking me in the ribs!

Harry the Ferret

Would anyone like an oversized rat? Ok, so Harry isn't that bad. The little fellow is growing on me a little. Who is Harry, you might ask? Last night Dustin was outside and huddled under my car was a small ferret. He called for him and the thing came running. I'm pretty sure it was instant love...just not for everyone in the household...meaning Steeler and I. But because we are mostly animal lovers (athough the beady eyes are making it hard), we made a little home for it in the garage. I don't know if you've ever been around a ferret, but they are curious little creatures. The thing was practically climbing the walls in seconds, nonetheless driving Steeler nuts. It got stuck in a golf bag, enjoyed our recycle bin and I swear it kept trying to climb up my pants (which made me scream and run away like a little girl). It eventually kept scratching at the door to get outside so we decided to let it go. We both thought that maybe it just wanted free so off it went! Goodbye Harry.... or so we thought. This morning not only did I find out it had snowed (YAY!), but Dustin also found that Harry had spent the night in the bed of his truck. Well, that was it. He loaded up Harry into his crate with his nice warm blanket and decided to take him to work with him. What a sucker. Now I hear Harry is sleeping comfortably in the office at the shop and God only knows what we'll do with him from here. Hopefully a neighbor will have posted signs or something because they really miss the little fella. Doubtful.

Virtual Braydon

So according to this fun website, here's what Braydon will look like!

Create Your OwnMake a Routan Baby

FREAKY!!!

Nursery Mode

It's official. I'm obsessed with decorating Braydon's nursery. A few weeks ago Dustin and I picked out a color for the walls, just a boring off-white since we're renting and didn't want to stray too far from neutral. Anywho, he started painting about an hour before I woke up one morning and I walked into the room and HATED it! I promptly stopped him, went online and found an entire new theme and color. I ended up running to the paint store, picking up brand new colors and patiently waited for my new bedding to arrive. I found a really cute theme called one little froggy. I like the frog theme but wasn't into anything that was too cartoon like. Here's the bedding we're using.

I liked it because of the realistic frogs that are placed in random spots on the pattern. We ended up with 2 blue walls and 2 green. It looks really nice and once I start getting room accents I'll take some pictures and post them.
Apparently my baby shower has been planned and it's driving me nuts because everyone is keeping it a surprise from me! I really like to know when things are, mainly because I want to look cute! LOL. I just don't want to show up for my own shower in sweatpants and curlers or something crazy like that. I'm going to attempt to guess when it is by insanely checking my registry to see what things are bought. (I hate surprises!) Ok, I'll stop obsessing about it and let it go! Can't wait to see you all!

Oh, the Steelers!

Host unlimited photos at slide.com for FREE! One of my absolute favorite activities is watching the Steelers on a Sunday afternoon. In fact, I'm watching them now (since I finally hooked up my wireless internet with the sole purpose of having a computer around once the baby is born, although being able to have my computer around while watching the Steeler's on HiDef ain't so bad either) and the boys just scored another amazing touchdown against the Colts! This season is actually going fairly well, even though I'd like to see Ben take a seat a let Leftwich out there a few more time..I'm rather fond of him. But mostly I'm fond of Troy Palomalo. He's my NFL boyfriend, you weren't aware? The other favorite Steeler of my life is posted in the giant picture at the top of this post. Isn't he the cutest? Now, for those of you who know me, you know this dog is very important to me, but we're sort of coming across a slight problem lately. I'm realizing he may not be the best baby-dog in the land! He loves me unconditionaly, as dogs do, but I don't think he's going to be willing to share me. We've got a long, tough road ahead of us, he and I, but we're going to try our best to make it work. If you have suggestions on how to deal with a jealous dog, let me know! I'd love to hear some opinions.

29 1/2 Weeks! Can you believe it?

So I have 3 new things to add to my "scared to death of having a child" list. Bats, Raccoons and Carbon Monoxide. In my long, tedious and boring drive to work, I've become addicted to a podcast called "This American Life." For those who are techie dorks like myself, I'm sure you're already familiar with this free weekly podcast that highlights random things about life as an American. It's completely addicting and I can't wait until every Monday when I can download my new episode! Anyway, during this weeks podcast fill, I listened to a number of "scary but true" stories. I now have to thank Ira for making sure I check my child's room for bats every night and stay away from raccoons who might have rabies. No more taking nice walks in the woods for this girl. When it comes to Carbon Monoxide poisoning, who knew that it caused symptons relatable to having poltergiests in your home. I'll just purchase a detector in case I start hearing random footsteps walking through my home.

So seriously, 29 1/2 weeks. It's going fast! I can't believe that I'm going to be a mother. I always knew it would happen someday, or at least I dreamed about it, but I guess I never really REALLY thought about the entire process that goes along with it. I mean, not the actually baby-making process...that's a given, but all of these little things that come along with a pregnancy. It's definately the most life-changing occurance I've ever had in my life! I think I'm more calm and caring (aside from my mini spaz attacks brought on by raging hormones) and I think I'll end up being a pretty swell mommy. Dustin will make a pretty swell daddy too, as long as the baby doesn't use our newly acquired pistol as a teething ring. (My mother seems to think we're invalids, but that's another story). Anyway, here's a pic I took of myself in the bathroom today at school. Calm down, it's the only place with a full length mirror! I'm getting rather large and thinking of purchasing some moo-moos (I know that's spelled incorrectly, but hey...spell it how they're really gonna make you feel, right)! Anyway, let me know what you think!
