So I have 3 new things to add to my "scared to death of having a child" list. Bats, Raccoons and Carbon Monoxide. In my long, tedious and boring drive to work, I've become addicted to a podcast called "This American Life." For those who are techie dorks like myself, I'm sure you're already familiar with this free weekly podcast that highlights random things about life as an American. It's completely addicting and I can't wait until every Monday when I can download my new episode! Anyway, during this weeks podcast fill, I listened to a number of "scary but true" stories. I now have to thank Ira for making sure I check my child's room for bats every night and stay away from raccoons who might have rabies. No more taking nice walks in the woods for this girl. When it comes to Carbon Monoxide poisoning, who knew that it caused symptons relatable to having poltergiests in your home. I'll just purchase a detector in case I start hearing random footsteps walking through my home.
So seriously, 29 1/2 weeks. It's going fast! I can't believe that I'm going to be a mother. I always knew it would happen someday, or at least I dreamed about it, but I guess I never really REALLY thought about the entire process that goes along with it. I mean, not the actually baby-making process...that's a given, but all of these little things that come along with a pregnancy. It's definately the most life-changing occurance I've ever had in my life! I think I'm more calm and caring (aside from my mini spaz attacks brought on by raging hormones) and I think I'll end up being a pretty swell mommy. Dustin will make a pretty swell daddy too, as long as the baby doesn't use our newly acquired pistol as a teething ring. (My mother seems to think we're invalids, but that's another story). Anyway, here's a pic I took of myself in the bathroom today at school. Calm down, it's the only place with a full length mirror! I'm getting rather large and thinking of purchasing some moo-moos (I know that's spelled incorrectly, but hey...spell it how they're really gonna make you feel, right)! Anyway, let me know what you think!
